Dancin' in the RAIN and JUCO!

Sunday morning first thing after Griffin woke up, I dressed him in the best rain gear we had...obviously, we don't get much rain here, 'cause I had nothing for the guy. I put him in his winter coat, waterproof pants (hand me downs) and leather shoes...like I said the best I could do, and we went out to dance in the rain. He preferred to stomp in the puddles and play with the water off the gutters, but none the less, we had a great time. One of those moments in time, FOR SURE!! We even made it to church on time too, extra bonus! Enjoy the pics...oh and we are LOVING this rain...even if we had to leave the JUCO game for a bit. We got to return and watch about 5 innings, so that was a treat.

Farmers never get a break ;-)

Just watching Griffin watch the JUCO game was enough for me. He LOVED it...bazeball, bazeball, over and over. He really did watch the game. The best part was the bullpin was right in front of us and he could see everything they were doing. Oh man, we can't wait for our little "little league-er" to play.

Spring Happenings...

This kid loves to be outside. We can hardly keep him indoors. With tractors (track-toos), horses, rocks, swings, and just plain ol' outdoor explorin' right off the back patio, it's a daily battle to go in. We love watching him just enjoy the simple things. Today, while at our house, he was able to spray a hose, get in the sprinklers, and enjoy a little yard work. Bring on the summer...tennis lessons, softball games, pool time, bbq's, and WARM weather...it's magical!

EASTER 2009...

Happy Easter to everyone! Our Easter was a bit of a downer due to colds and crummy weather. Although, we have a bigger reason then health and sun to celebrate (well it would have been nice) so we'll go with that. Thank you, Jesus for what you did for us on the cross and on that first Easter morning...and for what you do for us all THE TIME! We feel your love and your blessings!

This was the first time Griffin was able to dye Easter Eggs. Is there any other way to let a toddler do this? Enjoy...

Griff & EASTER GRASS

...and here you have it folks...the Easter grass. I'm totally lovin' it!

The other day the light was amazing...it had that wonderful warm, orange glow...which only meant at 4:45pm I had to get my son dressed for the day and get out and get some shots in this light. (what can I say, it was a stay in jammies kinda day!) Our little man is 15 months now and talking and running around like crazy.

Bring on the EASTER grass!

Wheat Grass for the Easter Basket
I'm so thrilled to be able to pass this fun, simple, easy, cheap, but CUTE craftish thing on to little Griffin (and you). My mom started this for us when we were younger and now I it's my turn. So all I did was buy Griff's Easter basket (at Target)(it's no potterybarn basket, but it will do for this year), the liner (at Home Depot), and the wheat berry seeds (Highlands health food store?) and put it all together. I soaked the seeds for 48 hours (supposed to be 24 but didn't get to it) and then fill the liner with soil and add the seeds and a bit more soil and top it off with Saran wrap and you are good to go. Remove the wrap once the seeds begin to grow and there you have it. REAL grass instead of the plastic colored grass. I will repost once the grass has started to grow so you can see how cute it looks.

Where has the time gone?

It feels like it's been forever since I've been on here. We have a new niece, who is just precious. I'm really looking forward to spending some time with her next week. I got the privilege to be in the room when Kiersten made her entrance into the world. I was reminded in the room how creative our God is. What a miracle birth truly is to me! Thank you, Mel for asking me to be there. I loved it all and you were amazing. When we finally got to see this little miracle, it was like I already knew her because she looks SOOO much like her older brothers. I was a funny thing thinking I knew her when I had only just met her. I wonder if I'll feel that way again when we have another one.

Speaking of our child...Griffin has been talking like crazy. He learns new words all the time. One of his newest words is "Am-mah" for grandma. What a cutie this little guy is. We are really stepping up the weaning and he's not too into it. Most of my day is filled with distraction methods. I'm hoping transition will start to flow a bit more easily :-).

My new website...

The Lord is faithful and has allowed for my first website to be up and running. I'm thrilled to see what He's done with my heart for photography over the last year. The site is still under some serious construction, but I would love to hear any feedback from ya. So, please go and check it out...

HE'S WALKING...

Griffin is now 13.5 months old and walking like a champ. Four days ago, nothing and now he walks all over the place. He must be one of those kids that thinks about it for as long as he needs then just takes off. No real trying it out just watching and thinking then delivering! It's just a joy to watch him learn things. I have to say the last 3 weeks have been pretty rough on the guy. He was a total emotional case, very needy, clingy and fussy! Thanks to our friend, Jen, who gave us the book, "Touchpoints - birth to three - your child's emotional and behavioral development" which totally hit the nail on the head saying before many huge milestones you may see your child go through exactly what we saw Griffin go through, but not to worry it's normal. I was at the point of going to see our doc to ask what is up with this normally chill kid? But at last, we have passed this stage. I for one am so thankful. He's back to his normal self, but at the same time changing into such an amazing kid. Now if we could just get the issue of 1 or 2 naps and a reasonable bedtime figured out, we'd be set.

V-day, Snowboarding, & B-day dinner...

Here's an update on the Pollard Fam...
Valentines day was spent in Steamboat. We went out on a hot date with Mema and our Niece Lilli. Good times and boy do they have GREAT french fries! A few days later, Lilli and I were able to go snowboarding. She did great. By the end she was linking both her heal and toe side turns together...NICE WORK, Bird! When Griffin and I got home, after almost a week of being gone, the rents took us out to dinner for both Jeff and my birthdays. Devitos has the best garlic bread...oh my...oh and Mel's fam came too. More news to come, but it's in the next post!

Lilli's mom brought us

Starbucks hot chocolate!

Yes, that's Lilli doing a back bend on the gondola!

Griff's 12 month pictures

Today, Griff and I ventured out to take his 1 year photos... Even though the morning was a bit rough from "teething" this little guy was a total champ out there. He just played and crawled around and I followed close by. He was probably so thrilled to be outside he didn't care what we were doing.
