What A Champ!

Griffin is 10 weeks old today and has rolled from his tummy to his back (rolled both ways). We're so proud of this little guy. Thank you again, Jesus, for blessing us with such an amazing gift.

Griff's First Shot...

One Monday, Griff had his first "well child" check-up. Jeff and I aren't big vaccine fans, I must admit - me more then him, so we decided to go with Dr. Sears selective vaccine schedule.
Dr. Bob says...

  • By only giving two vaccines at a time (instead of as many as 6), I decrease the chance of chemical overload from grouping so many vaccines chemicals all together at once. This allows a baby's body to better detoxify the chemicals one or two at a time.

  • I give only 1 aluminum-containing vaccine at a time (instead of the recommended 4). Overloading on this metal can be particularly toxic to the brain (See Resources, page ___ of The Vaccine Book to view the research on this).

  • I give only one live-virus vaccine component at a time to allow the body's immune system to better handle the live viruses in these vaccines.

  • Giving fewer shots at a time may decrease the side effects, in my experience.

  • Giving fewer shots at a time also makes it easier to figure out which vaccine a child is reacting to if a severe reaction occurs.

you can read more about it at:

http://www.askdrsears.com/thevaccinebook/labels/Alternative%20Vaccine%20Schedule.asp

This schedule has really given me more of a peace about these immunisations we "must" give our children. Plus, our Pediatrician felt comfortable with it and supported our decision, which helped Jeff a lot.

Griff handled the shot very well. He was asleep at first, but when he got the shot, he opened his eyes really big and gave out a good cry, but settled down very quickly. What a champ!!

The Nephews turned 1

Last Sunday the twins had their first birthday party at McDonalds. We can't believe how fast the year has gone. These guys are so darn cute.

HE'S HERE

Reagan Micheal Koskan arrived today!!! My dear friend, Danie, gave birth to her first baby today. He's totally healthy and doing well. They went in at 11am and had him at 2:30pm. I haven't seen any pictures yet, but I'm sure he's "to die for." He weighed 6 pounds 10 ounces (I think) and 19.5 inches long. I can't wait to see this guy. We love you, Koskans.

The Pollards Got A BOB

The weather at the end of February was fabulous and we were able to get out and enjoy it...and we all know that Momma needs to "get her walk on." Thank you to everyone in Steamboat who came together and bought us this amazing stroller. We love it!!

Baby Dedication

At our church, Grace Community, we dedicated Griffin Shields to the LORD. The service went very well and he didn't even fuss. BUT the best part was having our families over after for lunch. After we ate, we gathered in our livingroom and prayed for Griff and also for our niece and nephews. It's something I hope we continue to do as the kids grow. We are just so thankful for our families and how the Lord has blessed us. Our prayer is that Griff knows the Lord and chooses to follow Him.
