Zoo & Aquarium

Denver ZOO

I'm so glad we made it to the zoo this summer. Although there were some amazing animals there, I have to be honest and say to a 20 month old, the best part was the train and the merry go round. I love that we get to be with this little person as he experiences all these things. I just love getting to be GRIFFIN'S Momma.

almost there, Griffin!

Griffin LOVED the train...here he is so excited to get on and then he's peeking over the seat to see Daddy!

Denver Aquarium

A bit overstimulating for his age, we still had a wonderful time seeing all the amazing fish and such. I just stood in awe of all the colors and creativity of God to make such beautiful creations. Griffin was a bit spent from a FULL weekend, note to self LESS IS MORE with a toddler, but none the less very cool place. Next trip- children's museum. (Do they like antibac that place like every hour? Just wondering)

Pollard Brothers Motors...2nd...again

Don't mention it to Jeff about us getting second, three years in a row. He does take our team very seriously! Well, only on the field and for the 10 minute ride home, then after that he's over it. We had another great season together and enjoyed getting to know our team members even more. We already miss you guys, but we're counting on your for next season.

Mema comes to town...

Gotta love that Mems!

Griffin is very excited~

Colorado beaches...rough as they may be, they are still fun!

What a great get-a-way that Ridgway Reservoir is for us. A little sun, water, digging, picnicking and well...small pieces of rock for a beach. Griffin fully enjoyed going there a few times this summer. My goal is to take the boy to a real beach next summer. Let's keep our finger crossed for that one! Oh and a shout out to Danie for the rash guard and sweet sandals!

Looks how nicely they are playing and enjoying their snacks!

Baby Bliss

First ones at the beach, so peaceful and quiet! what a champ that Griff is to go get the ball that floated out into the water.

"Where'd Libby Go"

For almost 3 weeks, we all stayed at our friend's house, the Rosentreters. What a blessing that was. We are in the home-stretch of our year long debt reducing decision to live with Jeff's parents. With such a generous offer from our friends, we had to take them up on it to give the 'rents a break from us!

Griffin was a bit confused as to where Olivia had gone. We were in HER house but she was no where to be seen. One time he was drinking out of her cup and he said, "Libby's juice" as in asking, this is her cup, right...so where is she.

It was a nice break for the guy...he enjoyed playing in her pretend kitchen, putting babies in her swing, and even carrying around her tea cups and pitcher! I was surprised how much he really did like playing with all her stuff.

One of his favorite things was picking "straw-babies" or strawberries and (to)matoes out of their garden. I had to keep a close eye on the guy to make sure he wasn’t picking green ones of either. He absolutely loved the garden, which makes me even more excited about having ours next summer.

When they finally got back you should have seen how cute they were together. They both were so flirty and excited, with HUGE smiles on their faces. Thanks, you guys, for such thoughtfulness and love that you have shown us.

Glenwood...and all around~

In the middle of July, just the three of us enjoyed an amazing get-a-way! We're kinda hangin' low this summer, so we're going to explore some areas that are close to us. I had never been to Aspen, so off we went...well actually we HAD to stop in Red Stone to get our FAV ice cream and play in the river for a few...

next stop, Aspen

We hit it on a great weekend, there was an "art in the park" going on, farmers market, and many other street vendors out. I must admit, the place was cute and all....but seriously a kids button-up shirt for $116...PLEASE~ There's nice and there's just dumb!

Our next stop was Glenwood- we found a cute pizza place, which we loved and Griffin even got a sucker after, so he was really excited. Our next stop was target, I got a tankini and Griffin got a very masculine lady bug floaty. Of course, it was like 830pm by the time we got back from our shopping, but we still had to let the little guy have a quick swim. Thankfully, it didn't last long 'cause it was cold and getting really dark. So back to our hotel room we went for some bedtime cuddling!

The next morning we woke up with great intentions of exploring the caves...we got there just in time to catch the next tour, but we decided to wait until the top to purchase the tickets-bad mistake. That tour sold out and so did the next. We were going to have to wait like an hour and a half before we even started and then I think it lasted an hour...so that would have put us past 1 with no lunch...so we decided to just try that one again some other time...although we did enjoy the ride up on the gondola.

After we decided to come back when he's a bit older, we wanted to find something he would at least enjoy up there; and we sure did, they had a huge sand box with truck and shovels and such...

This next part was the best part, because the decision was made totally on the fly. We were at the gas station fueling up to head to junction to try to find a pool to spend the rest of the afternoon. It was a bit of a sad feeling knowing the morning was such a flop and we had been turn down by a local hotel to use their pool because it was a weekend and only the customers could use it. (You can pay to use it all week, but not on the weekends) So, I just casually asked Jeff what he thought of us staying another night in Glenwood and getting up early Monday morning for him to make it back to work. This would allow us to stay at the hotel and use there indoor "water park." He was totally game and that's just what we did. We had a blast. We went right then and got in the pool and spent the rest of the morning there. They have two great slides, zero entry pool, a hot tub and a basket ball hoop! Then for lunch we had Quedoba :-)! We went for a drive and Griffin took his nap and we ended up in Carbondale. It is such a great place! Wonderful park and such a cute main street. I hit a consignment store and scored a few pairs of jeans! There was even a concert in the park. Oh man, what a great day. We finished the day off with Chinese and one more trip to the pool! Six in the morning came fast, but it was totally worth the extra day and I loved being with my GUYS!
