Mr. Thirsty meets Griffin

The first dentist appointment's success is 1/2 the child and 1/2 the staff.  BOTH were amazing.  He came with me the day before for mine so he would be comfortable with the place and know how it all worked.  The next day came he was ready to go.  He met Mr. Thirsty and Mr. Water.  Both were very friendly tools ;)  Stacy our hygienist, was excellent with him too.
Last minute, I decided to bring Ailee so she could see Griffin.  I'm glad I did cause she started panicking and thinking it was a doctors office, which in her world means, shots.  She calmed down and watched for a bit and then took over my phone.  She also is debuting some pretty fabulous jeans my mom gave her.
He did great.  He only didn't get x-rays, 'cause his tongue kept pushing it out.  Next time :)
He really enjoyed getting his dentist goodie bag and picking out two treasures from the box.  Although, as he told me, "it's just cardboard made to look like a treasure box."
As a side note, I might have a hairdo obsession.

the Other Pollards

The Jury is in...camping with the other Pollards was fabulous.
Our location was "unfabulous" for bike riding, but we'll take what we can.  If you were wondering, my search is still on for an even better fit.  If anyone has some suggestions for Northern or Western CO, please share.  We do have a pop-up, so that is a factor for us.   My dream spot would have a mellow creek with a gradual entrance, lots of trees for shade and beauty, a place the kids can ride their bikes, lots of friends joining together, and a huge fire!  Simple, right?
The first morning we spent in town at red stone, creekin' it up, lunch at a cafe and then park and ice cream with the cousins.
Looks like Ailee is understanding Griff's love of motorcycles :)

After we all had the after-ice-cream-uforia, we hit the trail in hopes to put some of that sugar to good use.
I have to say, this little guy (above) in the blue, he loves Ailee.  He wants to hold her hand and play together, and what does he get? "no!"  Poor boy! he's so sweet and she doesn't even know what she's missing.  She'll figure it out soon, K, don't give up :)

E was a good sport and lead the way to the "big rock."

How can you even resist this?  Boyhood, right infront of us.
Muddy feet to go with the unders.

Sesame chicken, fresh palisade peaches, olathe sweet, sweet corn, cherries...life is good :)
Breakfast in the camper with the heater, thank you very much!
A very fabulous time indeed :)

Challenger soccer camp

What an amazing week we had.  Not only did G have a super fun time at camp, meet new friends, hang with 2 of his best buddies, and FINALLY wear his new Adidas "cleaks" (comma somewhere in here)  we got to host one of the coaches...
...Oli.

We all hit it off with Oli. He was great, a fabulous house guest. The kids loved him, G loved showing him all his toys, the sites, having a little keeper practice, and show him how he rides a 2-wheeler.
Ailee was a little harder to win over, but I think the daily tots from Sonic finally did the trick. He LOVED Sonic. Dang you, happy hour...
Another added bonus was our niece was able to participate in the camp for the 3 days they were here. Score, indeed :)
Oli, thanks for being so sweet with our kiddos.  It meant so much to our little guy.
No matter what they wanted to do, you were a good sport.

At camp each kid brought an item to dress the coach up...result above.
Here's G's coach...above and also cousin, G, bustin' a move :)

Coach with the two Gs.

Lastly, Griffin received this very special "kit" from Oli.  It's from his tryout with Norwich, the premier team.  He signed it for him and we promised to get it framed and put in his room.  That is still in the works.

Such a great experience all around.  After camp, G gave the 2 thumbs up for fall soccer.  Good times to come!

Honey, Bee sweet :)

 And here's the party...

She was sweet enough to help us prepare the cookies for her cupcakes.
We did use a new paint brush, btw.

Over the last year, our girl has LOVED honey.  She loves honey on EVERYTHING.
Honey on:
cereal
popcorn
bread
apple
veggies
anything she can put it on she will...
Her love of honey inspired this little party, which lead to a cute little honey bee celebration.

It must be said, that I of course couldn't do this without some serious help.  Huge thanks to my Mom, D, my Mil, Cousin, and friend who helped make our girl feel celebrated.

A serious honey bar (with Nutella, of course)
Grandma and Ailee :)
too bad we didn't get one with Mema :(

She was a bit shy at first, but then kept requesting it be lite over and over again.

August 1, 2012

Ailee, you are sitting on my lap as I type, and I love these moments when you sit long enough to let me kiss your head over and over again.  I breathe in deep the sweet smell of your freshly washed burts bees hair.  We love you with some serious craziness.
I don't think I prepared myself for the depth of your personality.  You, little lady will do WHATEVER you want to do.  We believe in you, but mostly it comes from the fire in your belly.  You have fun to the extreme and you also take sassy to a whole new level ;)

When we are away from each other, I dream about your potential...I know you will do this one given life well.  That's just who you are.  My prayer for you, the last few months, is a heart of joy and gentleness.  My hope is that with your strengths and my Mama prayers, you will have a heart that's open to our Father's voice.  He longs for your obedience, because he knows you, loves you, and wants all your gifts to be used the fullest.

I absolutely love seeing your personality grow.  With that growth your Mama grows.  I grow in patience, adoration, in prayer, in frustration, in excitement, and mostly more in love with you.
Over this next year, as your rock it, dance through it, and say"NO" a hundred times, just know that we will love you through every season.  I'm thrilled to see what this year holds for you!

HAPPY
 2nd
 BIRTHDAY,
 Ailee Mae.
