Bunk bed

To be honest, I have only a few childhood memories.  There was a time when my WHOLE family lived together in Dillon, Colorado. Together.  Our house had 4 bedrooms.  My parent's room, my sister's, my brother's and mine.

doesn't look like much to someone else, but it means the world to me.

the three of us :)

My brother, you see, he had these amazing bunk beds.  Were they wood, metal?  I have no idea.  But none the less he had them.  One night all three of us kids were in his bottom bunk and we expected to sleep there all together.  It was as if all things in the world were right, in my mind.

Our parents, mostly I remember my mom laughing and my dad saying, "not happening, better get to your rooms." You see there's not really a story or a funny laugh, but more of a place in my heart of peace over those silly bunk beds.  My family was together and that's all that mattered.  I'll never forget this picture I have of my brother in his long john-ish jams, as skinny and cute as could be and wanting us all to stay there with him.  My sister, 8 years my senior, she was a good sport.  Much too old to play these silly games of pretending that we would actually get to stay in there, but went along with it all the same.  She was my biggest cheer leader, oh such sweet memories...

When I saw this red bunk bed on facebook the other day, I didn't really go there in my mind of the memory I had, I just knew my son needed it.  We had talked about getting a set in the past, but we sure weren't look for one at the time.

helping daddy set it up

Once it was set up, I knew my little boy had no idea what they meant to me, and I know he'll never need to know what security a silly set up bunk beds can bring.
He seemed at home, just as I'm sure my brother did on his.  Now, I wonder what happened to those bunk beds.  I never remember having them after that house.

This boy, my boy, he loves his new bed and is already telling me about when he gets his new brother (nothing in the works, don't worry) how they will share this bed and where he'll sleep.

He quickly moved on to cousins and friends and family who would now be able to sleep in his room.

I hope, in the not so far off future, he will welcome his little sister to his bottom bunk with him as mine did to me.  BUT for now, a whole new set of wonderful feelings are sure to come as we welcome this bright red "happy" into our home.  We are so blessed, so blessed indeed.

FYI, he only jumped from the 4th rung of the ladder, don't worry...too much :)

My poor blog has felt neglected! Sorry blog, I have a new love it's INSTAGRAM. If you are on there follow me at "arrived." There will be a day that I return to you.

Although, this NEWS is blog worthy. As of Daddy's birthday, the Pollard house, is MIMI (pacifier) free. We are 3 nights in and I'm calling it a total success. She still gets a little panic(y) when she remembers it, but moves on quickly :) Thank you LORD, we have been able to execute this much faster then last time.  (27 month= YIKES)

now you see it...
Where did Ailee Mae go??

now you don't!!
The days are slipping away...I'm trying to hold on to them tightly :)

Also, these pic were on the ol' phone, 'cause my camera was gone for 27 days, 3 hours, and 22 minutes...not that anyone was counting.  We have finally been reunited and a little girl's 18 19 month pictures are needing to be taken!
